Abú Media are delighted to announe the receipt of funding for their new social documentary series Croi an Cheantair in the latest round of BAI's Sound and Vision scheme.
This series looks at the effects on small local communities when large scale employers or businesses close down. In most cases these businesses were the Croi an Cheantair (the heart of the community)
It is a 6 part series and topics covered will include Ranks Flour Mills in Limerick, Beamish and Crawford in Cork, Tuam Sugar factory in East Galway, Deerpark Mines in Kilkenny, Gaeltarra Knitwear in Tourmakeady and the Ford Car factory in Cork.
FIlming will begin in July 2012 and the series is co-funded by TG4 on which it will air later this year.
