The Irish Prime MInister, An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen officially launched Abú Media's new series 1916 Seachtar na Cásca at government buildings on Wednesday 15th September. The Taoiseach commented on the lives of the 7 Signatories of the 1916 Proclamation in an exclusive interview for Nuacht RTE and expressed his intention to watch all of the episodes, schedule permitting.

A full complement of Press Photographers from all the national dailies were present and the event went off without  hitch.

Attending on the day were Pierce Boyce (Producer - Abú Media), Dathai Keane (Director - Abú Media), Pól O'Gallachóir (Head of TG4), Padraic O'Ciadhra (Deputy head of TG4) and Micheal O'Meallaigh (Senior Commissioning Editor TG4)

The series starts broadcasting on TG4 at 2130hrs on Wednesday 22nd and continues for 7 weeks. Repeats are on Sundays at 2130hrs (for the first two weeks) and 1915hrs (thereafter).
