Abú Media's Pierce Boyce is just back from a very successful screening run of 1916 Seachtar na Cásca in New York with a view to returning soon to the Big Apple to consolidate sales deals for the series in New York and across the USA.
The series screened across 5 venues to packed houses and the Irish American audiences were very keen to engage with Pierce after the screenings in very active Q&A sessions about the series and the events surrounding the Rising.
"It was an incredibly positive experience and the reaction in New York to the series was very powerful", says Pierce Boyce. "I hope we secured some deals and even opened a few new projects that cropped up in discussions with American writers, publishers and other film-makers I met during my trip"
"Peter Ryan the Deputy Consul General and Mary Deady from the Consul Offices were a massive help to us making contacts and setting up the screenings and I can't thank them enough for their input. Also Jim Keogh and Miriam Ní Neill from Údarás na Gaeltachta who accompanied me on the trip were invaluable. I hope we did some really good business during the 6 day trip and expect the DVD of Seachtar to be on sale in the USA by June this year." adds Pierce.
